Sources
Every price, date and inclusion comes from the provider's own website: its General Price List (GPL) or price page. Directories, search results and the state license lookup are never a source. Each stored value was matched word for word against a saved copy of the provider's document.
Which price is used
If a readable GPL exists, only the GPL is used. A "Starting at" figure is shown only when a provider's site has no price list that could be read, and it is marked with the provider's own wording and left out of every statistic. Only lines the document itself calls direct cremation are recorded. Nothing is added up, rounded or estimated.
Dates and old lists
The date is the one printed in the document. A list with no printed date is shown as "Price list date not shown". A list more than 18 months old is marked "older than 18 months". Every listing shows when it was last checked, and listings are rechecked every quarter.
What "Not published" means
We checked the provider's price list for that item and it did not say. We never fill the gap.
Provider type
Each provider is labeled local or online, traditional or cremation only, from the provider's own site. The basis is shown on its page.
License numbers
A license number is shown only as printed on the provider's own site, with a link to the state's public lookup page. This site does not verify licenses.
What this site does not do
- No provider pays to be listed or ranked.
- We do not sell leads, take calls or collect personal data.
- There are no ads and no affiliate links in this version.
- There are no ratings or reviews.
Corrections
A listing changes only when the provider's own published price list changes. The site rechecks every quarter.
